Event Phases

The Battle for the Union unfolds in three thrilling phases, from preparation to full-scale combat. Each phase offers unique challenges, rewards, and strategic opportunities to help your alliance claim Fort of Hope and the title of President of the Union.

Phase I – Call to Arms (Preparation) – 4h

Fort of Hope and the Eight Surrounding Forts are protected. Focus on gathering resources, defeating Partisans, and preparing your troops. Early rewards like Medals, speedups, and resources can be earned.

  • Fort of Hope and all surrounding Forts are protected and cannot be captured.

  • Rally, Attack, gather resources, defeat Partisans, strategically position yourself and prepare your army for what’s to come!

  • Earn points for early milestone rewards like Medals, speedups, and resources.

Tip: While you can attack other players from foreign States, focus on stockpiling resources and getting your troops ready first. Preparation is key for the battles ahead!

Phase II – March of the Armies (Strategic Warfare) – 24h

Surrounding Forts become contestable, and Military Convoys spawn across the map. Capture the Forts for live buffs and track Convoys to collect powerful boosters. Coordinate with your alliance to gain an advantage for the final siege.

  • The Eight Forts around Fort of Hope become contestable.

  • Military Convoys spawn randomly across the map. When destroyed, they leave a special Destroyed Convoy tile that, once gathered, grants a Destroyed Convoy Booster for your base.

    • Boosters activate immediately and stack with others of the same type.

    • Only one booster can be active at a time; gathering a new one replaces the current booster.

    • After a while, the destroyed convoy tile disappears, and new convoys spawn elsewhere.

  • Capture Eight Forts to gain points and live buffs that directly help during the final siege of Fort of Hope.

Tip: Coordinate with your alliance to capture Surrounding Forts and track Convoys: early control can tip the scales for the final battle!

Phase III – Final Siege – 44h

Fort of Hope protection is lifted, and alliances compete for cumulative control time. Buffs from the Surrounding Forts remain active, influencing the outcome. Every strategic move counts toward crowning the Leader of the winning Alliance as the standing President of the Union!

  • Fort of Hope protection is lifted, and the final showdown begins!

  • Alliances fight for cumulative control time to determine the standing President of the Union.

  • Buffs from Surrounding Forts remain active and influence the siege outcome.

  • Track the points for cumulative holding of Fort of Hope in the new designated section in Rankings

Tip: Keep an eye on active buffs and convoys: every advantage matters!

The Eight Surrounding Forts

The Eight Surrounding Forts are key strategic points in the Battle for the Union. Capturing them with your alliance grants powerful buffs that can give you an edge in the Final Siege at Fort of Hope.

To earn points from a surrounding Fort, your alliance must reinforce it with at least 100,000 troops. Points are tracked per fort, so each surrounding Fort you control requires its own minimum of 100,000 troops to generate points.

Capturing multiple surrounding Forts allows your alliance to stack buffs of the same type, but remember: points are calculated individually for each Fort. Coordinating with your alliance to reinforce and control multiple forts can make the difference in climbing the rankings and securing the President of the Union title!

Access the location of these Forts via the State 64 Overview, then simply tap on the desired one to lock your State view to the exact area.

Surrounding Fort Benefits

  • Fort Donelson – North: +10% Rally Attack on Fort of Hope

  • Fort Blakeley – South: +5% Healing Speed in Fort of Hope State

  • Fort Stedman – East: +15% Rally March Speed toward Fort of Hope

  • Fort Smith – West: +5% Troop Health when defending Fort of Hope

  • Fort Stevens – Northeast: -15s Rally Preparation toward Fort of Hope

  • Fort Sumter – Southeast: +5% Rally Capacity for Fort of Hope

  • Fort DeRussy – Southwest: +10% Training Speed in Fort of Hope State

  • Fort Davidson – Northwest: +10% Rally Attack Debuff when defending Fort of Hope

Pro Tip: Focus on forts that provide buffs most relevant to your role in the final battle, and make sure each is reinforced properly to earn maximum points for your alliance.

Military Convoys

Military Convoys appear randomly during Phases II and III. Rally and destroy them to earn event points, Medals and temporary buffs.

After a Convoy is destroyed, gather the remains to receive a powerful Destroyed Convoy Booster. The Booster becomes active immediately and stacks with any other active booster with the same bonus!

However, gathering from another Destroyed Convoy will replace the currently active booster.

After a set period of time, the Destroyed Convoy disappears from the map along with its effects. Keep a close eye on the map as another Convoy will spawn somewhere else instead!

Tip: Focus on convoys early to strengthen your alliance and gain key buffs before the final siege!

FAQ

Q: Why should I do other actions that earn points if only points for holding Fort of Hope matter for winning?

A: While holding Fort of Hope during Phase 3 determines who becomes the standing President of the Union, all other actions, like defeating foreign troops, capturing Surrounding Forts, defeating Partisans, or gathering resources, still earn points that count toward milestone rewards for you and your alliance.

These rewards provide shop Medals, and other valuable items that strengthen your troops and give your alliance an advantage in the final siege. Every action matters: points help you prepare, maximize your gains, and contribute to your alliance’s success even before the final showdown.

Q: Can I earn points if I’m not in State 64?
A: No, points are only earned while inside State 64.

Q: What counts as foreign troops?
A: Troops from players originating from a State different than your own.

Q: How do alliance points work?
A: Alliance points are the sum of points earned by all members. Check the Top Members Participation in the main Event screen for more details about individual contributions of your fellow Commanders.

Q: How do I access the Presidential Shop?
A: From the Battle for the Union Event screen using the shop button, or from the Event screen itself.

Q: What if I teleport late?
A: You can still participate, but plan carefully; capturing the Surrounding Forts early gives the biggest advantage.

Q: How do buffs from Surrounding Forts work?
A: Buffs are active only inside State 64 for the alliance controlling the Fort. Visit your Boosters > Fort Of Hope tab for an overview of bonuses currently applied to your Town.

Q: Do Surrounding Fort buffs stack if I hold multiple forts?
A: Yes! Buffs from each Surrounding Fort stack, but you must meet the 100,000 troop reinforcement requirement for each to gain points.

Q: Can I score points if my alliance controls a Surrounding Fort but I’m not reinforcing it?
A: No. Alliance points come from members who personally reinforce the Surrounding Fort with at least 100,000 troops. Buffs still apply for the controlling alliance, but individuals not reinforcing won’t earn event points.

Q: Can I stack boosters from convoys?
A: Only one booster of each type can be active at a time; gathering a new one replaces the current.

Q: How do Destroyed Convoy boosters interact with other buffs?
A: Each type of convoy booster stacks with other types but not with itself. Collecting a second Convoy booster will replace your current one. Timing is key: gather boosters just before launching your strongest rallies or defenses to maximize their effect.
